The Mission Statement of the Jigoro Kano Judo Foundation Lanka is relevant information on Judo and provides a bridge for all to share and grow in Judo together.
Mutual Respect, Mutual Gain, Mutual Welfare, Mutual Benefit!
(Professor Jigoro Kano)
Judo, is much more than a sport or martial art or Gold Medals, it's a way of life that can also lead to spiritual enlightenment!

Warning, be advised, it is strongly recommended that individuals viewing any of these martial arts techniques to seek proper supervision from an appropriate Judo Coach and or Instructors.

Judo was taken directly from the traditional Japanese combat art Jujitsu and is still very much considered a dangerous martial art!

It is the holistic intension of the creator of this page, to inspire people to get involved with Judo and lead a better life. Please seek professional guidance and enjoy the many benefits of Judo as a sport and as a great form of self defence!

The Jigoro Kano Judo Foundation Lanka only recognises Jigoro Kano as the lighthouse of Judo via The Kodokan, Tokyo Japan, and the birth place of Judo.

Enjoy and grow in Judo.

I think Judo is good for kids because it keeps them fit and supple, while at the same time it teaches them discipline and how to control their tempers.

"For the slightly older girls it also teaches them a little self defence, which in this day and age is always good to know.

"I personally like judo because I like the thrill of being able to throw or hold somebody who is a lot bigger or stronger than me. Also through Judo I have been able to travel the world and visit lots of countries that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to do. "
